Azawi "African Music" |Album Review

Azawi the Ugandan song bird is making next generational music that’s going to put African music and Ugandan music to compete favoraby with global musical genres and shape timeless african sound. When most of new generation artist were not brave enough to make a bridge between the old generation music and new generation and Azawi did the unthinkable.

“African Music” is pure work of art with unmatched finesse. Azawi’ s vibe is full of carribean and Afro RnB touch something when done right no words can describe it “GIMME” her single is album the instrumental flow is the true definition of Africanicity. Azawi’ s is just magical. We all love a well-chilled out African jam.

“CRAVING YOU HEAVY” makes you realize Azawi is more of a conscious music type of an artist and the way she manages to execute and deliver various types of emotion. I’m in love with this African queen. I love the fact that each song on this album sounds unique, each with a different timbre.

It’s been long since we had a Ugandan artist go all out on creating an album. Bammute is a typical example of this.

“Each of us has a course,
to thing with deep gratitude,
no time for giving bad attitude
life is a blessing in its magnitude”

Azawi thankful |

THANKFUL is a piece that you’ll have to sit down and tune down societies sound and turn up the volume and listen to what Azawi has to say.

Azawi’ s new album “African Music” got her collaborating and working with various African artists. My favourite collaboration would be “MAJJE” featuring Fik Fameica.

Azawi is just special. Her music are rich with society issues that we can all relate to. The sound and vocal intonation on “MAJJE” is on to make notes on;

“But we had bigger budget
And bigger budget need bigger money
So we hustled out and we prayed”

Each song on this album is a big tune and it takes more than ordinary artist to achieve such. SLOW DANCING is a song I’m waiting to scream my lungs out in clubs and parties. This definitely a banger! Mark my word.

The carribean influence of Azawi’ s style of music can be felt on her single “FACE ME” and being able to sound comfortable in a unfamiliar vibe you’ve grown listening to is something that we cannot ignore “FWA FWA FWA” has an almost similar Afro carribean vibe.

This jam has an out of this world groove. The vocals are well laid out, chilled and executed with a touch panache. Azawi may have produced the best album in east African without even realising it. “KU KIDO” “10 MY YEAR” has an almost similar afro RnB types off music.

Azawi’ s music is special and authentic cause it’s so rich with African culture and rhythms that set its part.

“TUBATIISA” after listening to this single I have nothing but respect to Azawi.

Azawi makes timeless African music full of African rhythms and culture be it. Conscious music or party music Azawi will not hold back “PARTY MOOD” and “NKUCHEKELE” which she featured Navy Kenzo are all party anthem music done in a purely African and authentic way.

The African sound in this album is one that deserves a standing ovation and a Grammy award. “LOVING YOU IS EASY” has a touch of rhumba and benga vibe and I’m loving every bit of it “AFRICA MUSIC” Azawi did justice the title of this single and the rhumba /benga vibe is just pure orgasmic.

Azawi’ s is next East Africa’s musical genius. Her voice is soon going to be a trademark identified from east Africa and we are really not ready for what she has in store if this is how she sound and she has not reached her prime years. AFRICAN MUSIC album by Azawi should be protected at all cost.

This is album is pure Euphoria

“You see I wanted to inspire
You to do what you inspire
Your desire”
